Grades: Grades are assigned in all classes, and grade point averages are figured on a four point scale: A=4, B=3, C=2, D=l, F=O. A student must receive a 3.0 average to be eligible for the honor roll, which is posted on the bulletin boards in the main hall. Any D or F grade makes one ineligible. Students are also honored for maintaining perfect attendance since absences and! or tardies do affect grades and classroom performance.

Report Cards: Teachers issue grades four times each year. Report cards are mailed home at the end of each grading period. (Note: A report card may be held if a student owes money and/or materials to the school.) Progress reports/deficiency notices will be sent at least once each semester to those students in danger of failing any subject at the end of the semester.

Promotion: The district has instituted new promotion requirements this year. Sixth grade promotion is dependent upon passing twelve of the fourteen semester courses taken during the year; the twelve classes must include two semesters of English with a grade of C or better and two semesters of mathematics with a grade of C for better. In order to be promoted from the seventh grade, a student must pass ten of the twelve semester classes taken during the year; the ten classes must include booth semesters of English with a grade of C or better and both semesters of mathematics with a grade of C or better.

Graduation: In order to graduate, a student must pass twenty of the twenty-four semester classes taken during seventh and eighth grades, and these twenty must include four semesters of English and four semesters of math. The grades in English
and mathematics in the eighth grade must be C or higher. These requirements must be met by June if a student expects to participate in the graduation ceremony.
