- 8th Grade Dance Volunteers
Needed! This is a fantastic event and students love it.
There are many ways that 8th grade parents can support the
8th grade dance, such as helping with healthy finger food,
decorations, selling of tickets, make boutionnaires, etc. The
students and staff need volunteers from sixth and seventh grade parents
to supervise inside the dance. The dance will be on Wednesday 6/11 7-10 pm in the
gym, which will need a lot of decoration. Please contact Jenny
Burroughs 528-2987 jdburroughs@ sbcglobal. net.

Fundraising
at King
Our Friends of King funding drive
needs and appreciates your generous support! Thank you.
As you know, both the state and our
school district are facing extreme budget shortfalls. Funding for King
programs previously paid for by BSEP (Berkeley Schools Excellence
Project)
and other sources has been diverted to help cover those gaps. As a
result,
the PTA has been asked to help fund several very important items for
the
2007-08 school year, including athletic and music programs, field
trips,
library support, and tutoring services.
If you would like the
opportunity to contribute,
please join our Friends of King Campaign
by making a donation to
King PTA.
To make a donation, please make a check
payable to MLK PTA and return it to school. All donations are
tax deductible
(Tax ID #94-6183862.) Remember, no donation is too small or too large,
all will be deeply appreciated, and all directly support your child's
school
and programs.
Other ways to Support Our School:
- You can also support King
while shopping without spending an extra dime. Register your credit,
debit and store loyalty cards with escrip,
Albertson's,
Schoolpop
and Maatian (FreePledge) programs
and King will get a
rebate ranging from 3-9% of every dollar
you spend at participating merchants.
- Another great fundraising
option is to recycle your
empty inkjet or laser cartridges from most printers, faxes and copy
machines and get points to buy new computers and other technology for
King.
- Get more detailed information
and helpful links on our Fundraising
page.
The
King e-tree
The King
e-tree is a useful communication tool to learn about
activities and events occurring at King, and to receive limited
information about what is happening with BUSD in general. This is a
selectively moderated list, which means that the volume of email is
kept
to a minimum. Subscribers can view and search the King e-tree archive.

Herman at King_E-Tree-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.
